What is Machine Learning?

Machine Learning (ML) is a subset of artificial intelligence (AI) that focuses on building systems that learn—or improve performance—based on data they consume. Instead of explicitly programming rules, we train models on data to make predictions or decisions.

Branches of ML

🔍

Supervised Learning

The model learns from labeled training data, making predictions based on known input-output pairs. Examples include spam filtering and price prediction.

🧩

Unsupervised Learning

The model works with unlabeled data to find hidden patterns or intrinsic structures. Common uses are clustering customers or dimensionality reduction.

🎮

Reinforcement Learning

An agent learns to make decisions by performing actions and receiving rewards or penalties. Used in robotics, gaming, and navigation.

🧠

Deep Learning

A specialized subset using neural networks with many layers (deep neural networks) to model complex patterns in data like images and speech.
